Thanks for the heads-up on the Lee Valle...Hi Niki,

Thanks for the heads-up on the Lee Valley clothespins. Lee Valley is a great company.

I ordered a package of their clothespins and found that they were pretty much the typical import pins, with the same cheesy spring that I show in the picture above. They are nothing like the traditional American clothespins that so many people are pining for.

I think Lee Valley customers are disappointed with the clothespins because there was a "apology letter" with my order. It ended by saying:

"Quality control in China is often not as strict as in North America. Regardless, these are still the best wooden clothespins we know of from anywhere."

That is probably true about the best clothespins they know of but it's a sad commentary on the state of clothespins. I will be sending Lee Valley a sample of the clothespin kits I intend to sell. Then they will know of a far better clothespin. And perhaps they can offer the kits in their catalog for woodworkers.

Best wishes,

HerrickHerrick Kimballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17116051416696885647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-54813059325300297052012-05-31T08:28:32.818-04:002012-05-31T08:28:32.818-04:00Hello Herrick,
