I don't blog as much as I'd like to but I have to keep priorities straight...as you are doing. I was so thankful at the end of this post that you were not signing off for good! Your writings do teach me, encourage me and inspire my family to do new things together - check out my next post on The Things You Do For Your Children....it should be up by Monday - you had a great deal to do with that post! Your writing is helping to spread what I believe is God's ideal....the agrarian life.
And tell Marlene I said..Way To Go!
Although, now that I know her, I wouldn't have expected anything less!
Blessings,
CheriTNfarmgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18268277956987428197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-28974583553700623202007-03-02T20:55:00.000-05:002007-03-02T20:55:00.000-05:00Herrick, I always enjoy your blog. The ad only shows if a person searches for the keywords you specify, and you only have to pay if they actually click on the ad.

I checked their tool to look up keywords related to chicken plucking, and it looks like a lot of them aren't very expensive. (Five cents every time someone clicks on the ad.) For $1600, you could get 32,000 people coming to your site who are interested in chicken plucking.

Here is the keyword tool:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Select "Cost and ad position estimates" from the drop-down menu to see how much a particular keyword costs; you also have to specify the maximum you're willing to pay to get this information.

Best of luck with Whizbang!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-68565652420680885022007-03-02T16:02:00.000-05:002007-03-02T16:02:00.000-05:00Herrick, allow me to echo the sentiments of my fel...Herrick, allow me to echo the sentiments of my fellow commenters. Your posts are such a fount of inspiration and wisdom to those of us who long to follow the same path. As much as I miss your frequent writing, it is refreshing to hear of your desire to devote more time to your priorities as husband and father. Dwayne's daily schedule is similar to yours. On top of that, because of being self-employed, he also has reams of paperwork to add to the burden, so I understand your struggle to maintain a balance. May the Lord give you the desires of your heart. Blessings to you and your family!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02224478477510925985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-25949171986852721462007-03-01T22:31:00.000-05:002007-03-01T22:31:00.000-05:00"There is a dark side to blogging. When I blog, I blog alone, while my children and the Lovely Marlene do other things.

There is a bright side to blogging too! It's a gift... not only of the talent of the writer, but to those who receive the very thoughts and ideas that inspire hope.

When we blog, we share our hopes, our family, our lives and broaden our community to reflect the change that comes from within ourselves.

I suppose it's a matter of perspective at times - as I like to say (about things) it's a get to not a got to! Only when our get to becomes a got to that we find our purposes askew and our priorities in need of attention.

Or as it is said, when it becomes time for a "check up, from the neck up" that our blessings become burdensome.

All that to say this, I sure do appreciate it when you write - because your wittings help inspire thought which is oft given to application and action in my own life.

So many Thanks, Herrick!

Regards,

Scott
'the wayward agrarian'Hexdek16https://www.blogger.com/profile/14588128744203671494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-9237753532322406322007-03-01T13:49:00.000-05:002007-03-01T13:49:00.000-05:00I enjoyed reading your ideas on the agragrian life...I enjoyed reading your ideas on the agragrian life as it relates to life in Christ. But in some ways I believe that our blogging time doesn’t belong to us, per say, but to the greater body of Christ who are both encouraged and pushed to a higher walk in Christ by the testimonies of what the Lord is doing in each of us. I know I have been encouraged by your blogging. You have already expressed this, but your real problem is not your blogging time, but all the time you spend away from home at work and commuting. I will pray that the Lord drive you far enough up the agrarian teeter-totter that it tilts downward and you slide, by God’s grace and providence, into full time agrarian living at home. Going up that steep teeter-totter when the world is pulling us back is quite difficult, but once it tilts the other way, it becomes much harder to go back to world, which is always drawing us back to it. Keep pressing in brother, you’ll soon get there.Missouri Revhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02358038144021316247noreply@blogger.com
