Anyone interested in agrarian culture and traditional ways of life will enjoy watching The Last Ice Merchant. It is only 15 minutes long. The photography is excellent. The story is rare and compelling.
I was in Ecuador in 1997. I have seen this mountain and the valleys that surround it. It is a beautiful place and the people that inhabit the region are a wonderful people. I had heard of this family from the missionary that we were visiting at the time. Though we never met any of them. One day, I'd love to return there. Time and life have a different meaning down there. I miss it.
