However, I do applaud the fact that some Christians are rejecting the awful notion that the world is all evil and hateful, based on the Bible's teachings. If you believe in a Creator then you should indeed take great joy and care of this Creation. It is, in fact, all you can know of any god for sure. You won't know if you made it to Heaven or not until later. But Earth is here and now, for which we can all be thankful.Annienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-1146841030162490002006-05-05T10:57:00.000-04:002006-05-05T10:57:00.000-04:00mountainfirekeeper: I always enjoy your comments...mountainfirekeeper: I always enjoy your comments and perspective.

raindear: Great quote. Just as high school students who read Chaucer no longer laugh at Chanticleer because they no longer know anything about the behavior of roosters, so too is the Bible becoming foreign to us, who now pass most of our time in artificial environments. I surely speak for many in saying that few of the significant events in my life have taken place outdoors. It was just the opposite for Jesus. Almost every important event in his life occurred outside: his baptism, his temptation, his transfiguration, his entry into Jerusalem, his crucifixion. The orbs in the sky were his roof. The fact is not irrelevant. One wonders: is the story of Adam and Eve less memorable for people who have spent next to no time in real gardens? Is the rhetorical resonance of Jesus’ agricultural parables dulled for readers who require every detail about planting and harvesting to be explained? Can those who run to sturdy shelters when tornado sirens sound fully appreciate the terror of the disciples on the waves of a stormy Galilee? Can people who do not know the difference between a sparrow and a starling have any deep emotional response to Jesus’ command to ‘look at the birds of the air’?"

- Dale C. You have an incredible wa...Hi Herrick!

Awesome post! You have an incredible way with words. Thank-you for sharing your thoughts.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I find no contradiction within the Bible for finding knowledge and understanding from "what God has made". Jesus used examples from the natural world for most of His parables.

God created the Laws of Nature. We can no more break His Natural Laws with our physical body than we can break His Eternal Laws with our spiritual body.

Go ahead, try to break God's natural law of gravity....a person can compensate for the law of gravity by applying laws of physics.

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

May God continue to bless you and guide you to share your insights of God's word as well as of His Creation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
