Reality and history tell us that this nation was founded on the genocide of native peoples who lived here for millennia prior to the European invaders whose perversion of their Christ's teachings told them to kill all the savages and take their land.

Indeed your "country was not at all what it once was."

As European descendant Americans we live a heritage of murder, thievery, lies, and genocide and NOT the peaceful ideals of a mythical Middle Eastern pacifist, namely Jesus Christ.pvoshefskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18006791309084155285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-62617338541743288922008-06-10T20:29:00.000-04:002008-06-10T20:29:00.000-04:00an american-The fact that we are all humans and fe...an american-

The fact that we are all humans and fellow citizens is not something I put too much hope in. Many humans and fellow citizens are poor examples of humans and citizens. As a Christian, my hope and faith is not in the wisdom and goodness of men, which are prone by nature to corruption and self gratification and a host of other even worse offenses (a.k.a., sin).

On the other hand, My God, He who SPOKE heaven and earth into existence, who created everything out of nothing, and who is Lord over all His creation (even you, whether you choose to believe it or not), is worthy of my complete trust and faith.

As for separating heathens and true Christians, my faith tells me to be wise and discerning about such things. Besides that, I think it is a general human tendency to identify with like minded people and associate with like minded people.

As for my faith being a minority worldwide, that was exactly my point in the beginning of this essay. What is your point in restating what I said? Are you insinuating that since Christianity is a minority religion, it is therfore wrong? Well, there is a lot that could be said in response to that. Suffice it to say that, historically speaking, the majority is often wrong. And many of the great cultural advances in the world have come about by dedicated minorities who pursued and stood for truth and righteousness, as umpopular as it was at the time.

Your final sentence puzzles me more than anything. How in the world did you come to the conclusion that I do not love my neighbor unless he is a Christian? That is an astounding extrapolation. Please show me where I said THAT so I can correct it. I don't think I said that because I don't think that. Thinking that way would not be very Christian of me.

But, finally, I agree completely with your final statement. You would be wise not to put too much faith in any human or fellow citizen. See paragraphs one and two above.

Sincere best wishes-

Herrick KimballHerrick Kimballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17116051416696885647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-57424982936039740262008-06-10T17:27:00.000-04:002008-06-10T17:27:00.000-04:00Hope comes to our country when we recognize that w...Hope comes to our country when we recognize that we are all humans and fellow citizens first. There lies our unity under our secular Constitution. All you seem to want to do is separate people into heathens and 'true Christians'. That is your right, but the fact is your faith is a minority world-wide. If you cannot love your neighbor unless he is a Christian, I don't have much faith in you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-68417257494647695302008-05-01T15:49:00.000-04:002008-05-01T15:49:00.000-04:00Have you seen this site? It makes me sick to see people drive around and show their patriotism by having a little flag in their car window that was made in China. Another thing, the people in Washington are always considered as "our leaders." Under our Constitutional Republic form of government, they are not our leaders, they are our public servants. We the people are meant to be the leaders, but most people these days do not have the Biblical world view, or responsibility as you have spoken of. I could go on and on... Great article. It is the father within the family who must decide the direction of such a transformation. There is no coincidence that the destruction of the family began not with forcing women into the workplace or putting children in compulsory public schools or taxing income and non-productive real estate, but in removing the father from the family farm or the family trade. Much of the cure to what ails us is dependent on returning the father to his proper place a the head of the family and in the home.

Cheers-JimJim Curleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02225590468579353857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13729569.post-39967177771765808402008-04-27T17:01:00.000-04:002008-04-27T17:01:00.000-04:00Thanks, I was blessed to read your post. Your descriptions of American Christendom are most accurate. It has become no different than the surrounding pagan culture that it has embraced; it has lost its savour, as you say, and has become good for nothing except as road gravel, to be trampled on as the Lord warned. Most Christians probably bristle in anger when associations are made between large industrial cities and wickedness, but I think history is pretty clear on this. Whenever man circumvents the law of God to exercise dominion of the earth for himself, he invariably centralizes his rebellion into powerful cities of economic and political control . . . towers that seek to usurp God’s place.
