I am doing some updating and organizing of this blog in anticipation of returning to blogging next month.
One of the things I've done is create an index and titles for the 20-part series, Getting Started & Finding My Way, which I posted here earlier this year. If you are new to this blog, I invite you to peruse the story of my youthful struggles to find my way in the world.

Looking forward to your return, Herrick. Oh, and by the way, how is the 2008 crop of stiff neck garlic coming? Just wondering...

Hi Carla,
Sad to say, I did not grow any garlic this year. My neighbor who let me use his land moved to Seattle. The new neighbors have planted their garden on "my" section of land. And they want to turn the field into a motocross course for their little boy to blast around on. :-(
That is sad, Herrick. I may have hoarded mine a little more had I known there was no more coming. I did order the salad flakes you recommended, and they sent a few samples with it, and among the samples was a small bag of his garlic powder. Not as wonderful as yours, but it will have to do for now. Glad to hear you're back to blogging. Sounds like you had a busy and fruitful summer. Talk to you later.

This is terrible! What are we Herrick's Garlic Junkies to do? We here in the southwest have not had success growing Stiff Neck Garlic. I have had Herrick's Garlic Powder around the house (frozen supply) for years. If I had foreseen this I would have stocked and horded more. I treat the stuff as if it were gold, using it sparingly and never in hasty experimentation. It's just too precious. Tell us this is just a speed bump and there will be a 2009 crop!
